Blenio Valley, Ticino The thermal sources of Acquarossa in the Italian part of Switzerland have been known since the ancient times. Regular spa activities started in 1786. During the second part of the last century, these magnificent buildings became run-down, and commercial usage stopped in 1971. In an effort to revitalize tourism, Blenio Turismo, the local tourism authority, embarked on a project to bring the thermal sources up-to-date whilst preserving their history. Resourceful Living produced a feasibility study, which was approved by regional and cantonal authorities in October 2008.
